In the realm high above, hidden from mortal sight, golden leaves protect bright celestial boats crafted from the finest wood. The boats carry the messengers of Gods across the sea of secrets where the divine formation of souls takes place. Here they are selected for a special mission and transferred into a mother’s womb. The second lino print shows the delight of a mother once her precious baby is born. The pattern behind resembles Mehndi designs, worn by women on their hands to celebrate a joyous occasion such as the birth of a child. This is a lino print where I have experimented with pattern making, repetition, and line drawing.
