What is the DAT test in NID & Its syllabus?
DAT test a two-stage entrance exam that evaluates test candidates for potential in the following criteria:
- Drawing Skills
- Design Sense
- Observation and Perception
- Creativity and Abstract Symbolism
- General Mental Ability and Communication Skills
The test is divided into two phases. In Phase I, candidates have to fill up a questionnaire that will assess their observation power; ability to utilize forms, color and shape; caliber for innovation and imaginative expression; and sense for drawing and proportion.
In Phase II, students will give a studio test that will evaluate in real-time their ability to innovate, and handle equipments and material. This is followed by an interview round where the candidate is judged on parameters like career orientation, personality traits, general knowledge, academic and co-curricular achievements, etc.

What is GAT test in NIFT & its Syllabus?
The General Ability Test (GAT) is a written test for all five courses offered at NIFT. After clearing GAT, students are required to qualify for CAT. For NIFT Entrance Exams 2019, the Gat exam will include sections such as Quantitative Ability, Communication Ability, English Comprehension, Analytical Ability, and General Knowledge and Current Affairs.
What is CAT test in NIFT & its Syllabus?
The Creative Ability Test (CAT) is conducted all over India to evaluate candidates’ observation power, intuitive and design ability , concept development, creative and innovative use of illustration, colour skills, and more. It is divided into modules such as Discernment Ability, Power of Observation, Creativity in Development of a Thought, and Design Ability of the Applicant. The test is conducted every year by one of the IIMs based on a policy of rotation.

What is BFA & Details of BFA Entrance Exam?
BFA or Bachelor of Fine Arts is an undergraduate degree course which deals with the study of Visual or humanistic discipline . The course is usually also mentioned as Bachelor of Visual Arts (BVA) during which the study of Visual Arts includes subjects like painting, sculpture, photography, literature, animation, etc. On the opposite hand, the study of humanistic discipline involves subjects like dance, theatre and music. A Bachelor of Fine Arts degree often requires a neighborhood of specialization to be chosen by the candidate as per his/her interest.
Depending on the candidate’s chosen specialisation, BFA is usually a 3 to four year duration course which will be pursued as a full-time, part-time, online or distance-learning programme.
