This piece began with a simple household object: clothing pins. I used them to create an armor-like surface around a jute torso, inspired by the spiked form of a sea urchin. By changing the function of something so familiar, I explored ideas of protection and confinement. The pins act as both a shield and a boundary, showing how outside forces can shape a person while also limiting them.
