Currency of Care

I created this piece to talk about growing up where love often came wrapped as things. A girl sits surrounded by money and luxury, yet her heart is left open and empty. Inside it are receipts, proof of everything she has consumed but never really felt. Using lace, pearls, and rope, I wanted to show how consumerism can replace care, and how affection can start to feel like a transaction.
