My artwork is inspired by a cherished Tibetan folktale from my childhood, recounting the contrasting yet complementary qualities of two women, Dolma and Tsering. Dolma, intelligent and outgoing, contrasts with Tsering, uneducated but hardworking. When faced with bandits in a forest, Dolma pleads with them, while Tsering stands her ground, surprising the bandits who eventually leave them be. Inquiring about. Tsering’s courage, Dolma learns the profound lesson that standing for what is right garners divine support. The tale’sMorality encourages people, regardless of differences, to unite for justice, assured that the gods will stand with them.
