This is a painting that captures me in a single image. My day does not begin without a warm cup of hot chocolate. To me that hot chocolate is more than a drink. Its a a moment of stillness reminding me to begin my day. The composition isolates a simple gesture yet captures the most important part of my routine as nothing can begin unless this ritual is complete. Through this work, I wanted to find beauty in ordinary intimacy therefore representing a cup of hot chocolate becomes a portrait of who I am.
